Tim Clark's CELL-RACR from MICRO at Artistree Gallery, Woodstock Vermont.
Curated by Kristin Lucas & Joe McKay for the Woodstock Digital Media Festival

GIFed from my cheap cell phone camera. Where was my real Camera? Lost under the seat of Joe McKay's car.

"CELL-RACR is a game where players can race their phones down a track to see once and for all who has the fastest phone. The rules are simple. Put your phone's ringer on vibrate and place up to three phones behind the starting line. Press the yellow button to start the race timer and working in teams of two have your friend continuously call the phone until it reaches the finish line. When the phone reaches the end push the button under the track to display that phone's time. "

GIFed from Adam Harvey's photos totally without permission because I'm like that, plus he has a good camera and actual skill. (where was my camera, you ask again? Lost under the seat of Joe McKay's car. That's where it was.)

Oh, that is an adorable game! I'm guessing the phones are set on vibrate, but it looks like a short track.

Yes , that was the hilarious part, getting everyone to actually set their phones properly. Half the races started with one cell vibrating happily down the track, while the other phone just rang.

The race I had lasted about 3 minutes, so the track is probably plenty long enough.

I SO want to have been there to watch this game!

I figured the track-length was designed for good game play. It's a really nice piece.

My motorola i305 would kick serious posterior here. Or maybe if there was a demolition derby for phones.

We once thought of having sumo-wrestling for phones on a small tambourine. But the phones wouldn't actually wrestle, we would just take bets on which one would fall off first.

The Samsung Focus Flash on ATT holds the current CELL-RACR speed record at 42 seconds!
