Far Out. I found Belew's 1982 rock-video to kinda represent a major turning point from analogue to digital video technology. I was in the video-lab at OCA at that time, so it was a big deal for me back then. "Big Electric Cat" wasn't the very first video to use computer graphics, but it symbolized the beginning of that technical shift.

Recently I watched a bunch of The Mind's Eye series of computer animated films. I found some of the earliest stuff (from 1990) really trippy and weird, maybe because the forms are more simple and abstract. The soundtrack sucks though so it's best to turn the volume down and substitute your favourite German Electronic music.
