The more I think about this #LornaMills @lorna.mills video in @transfergallery #transferdownload @current.museum the more I like it. Made of siloed gifs of human hands and animals interacting. Lots going on here, from juxtaposition of touch and vision (so huge in history of art and given a new valence by "virtual reality") to Aristotle's idea that hand is what makes us human and separates us from animals (which leads us to idea of Homo faber--man the tool-maker--which leads us to philosophy of technology). This is like #Rembrandt #AristotleContemplatingTheBustOfHomer 2.0 (original on view @metmuseum natch) cc: @kelaninichole @willmnathan @kellyrae222 A video posted by Dr. Tina Rivers Ryan (@tinariversryan) on Dec 10, 2016 at 8:50am PST
