METROPOLIS on WTC
The architect's survival story is amazing--really well written.
She was on 82 in #1. That was one floor below where my office was for ten years. We even shared the same western view of NJ. Her story felt like a hand held tour of what we might have had to go through had we stayed another couple of months. Every detail reads spot on acurate from my experience in ' 93 and then some....
The diciest moment was when she reached the concourse. Somehow she ended up underground, in the dark. I'm not clear what happened then--some falling rubble hit before the big collapse? In any case, if she hadn't found her way out...
