i just won this "drunk sailors in the brig" photo / the trailer (1st post) is still on the block
Bill - I know I'm a bit slow, and the one time I met you I asked you about this in person and failed to absorb the information in a meaningful way, but what is this photo archive project of yours? so curious.... Nice one(s?), by the way.
these are photos from 3-bay. Im chasing 20thc images of people drinking and/or building things such as houses. there is a lot of compitition for trailer images so ill be lucky not to be outbid on the above trailer image. so far these are previewed as web exclusive pieces.
Complicating the chain of authentication / source image for the preceding. more discussion (70s nude)
Interesting! I like the collection/appropriation axis (it's not very long, but it's pretty tippy). Did you hear about the big show Same Difference by Ydessa Hendeles? It was really good. Later I will post something I wrote about it. For now here's JBM's review in Canadian Art.
my goodness.
thanks for the YH link - Rainier club beer looks to be based in san francisco and seattle - alot of the drinking sceens arent pretty. amature photography does seem to harbour some truths not availible from the professionals
Rainier Club could use that photo as promotion! Buncha duffers "getting wild with Rainier."
