im crazy about it. now, put the cast of are you being served in there... / just read more of your post links. issue #1 : "space fungus" answer : as long as it doesnt leak, go space fungus. issue #2 : "no store sign" answer : building so distinctive sign not needed, very unamerican concept

I like the design. If you stuck it on top of the Tower of London it would be like "our" Foster(-to-be) at 56th and 8th Avenue (the HearstHybrid).
