a friend of mine just "created" a font - we were wondering what to do with it..
sort of off topic, fyi: I saw yesterday that the Neutra jumbo series is on super sale at the Strand.

i think you can register fonts. not sure where. ive got a 12 pixel uppercase font i designed and have never seen elsewhere. and never registered.
