post columbine school design

"With the push of a button, Clackamas High School staff can put the almost 2,000-student school in lockdown. Teachers also can lock themselves and students inside classrooms in an emergency. Clear lines of sight throughout the building allow monitoring of large swaths of interior space."

I swear I heard a news report after the recent school shooting that started: "With checkpoints, guards, and security cameras, this school seemed to be doing everything right..."

Gee I just can't understand it.

It's because families have been sterilized and contracepted down to such a small size and what few children there are aren't taught religious values. Or at least that's what answer man Tom DeLay said about Columbine.

its plain and simple academic terrorism. obviously the teachers are to blame filling these kids heads with all kinds of spurious "theorys" and such. what that school needs is a firing range so kids can learn how to protect themselves. if all the kids had guns, this would never have happened.

daves right. my high school had one. i participated in the shs gun club freshman year 1970. cant remember where we got the ammo though and they must have provided the 22's rifles. 'n i turned out ok... right? i think it was closed by the time i graduated in '74 - probably to make space for a computer lab.

Jim L and I lived in Jester Dorm at UT Austin. It was designed by prison architects, and it showed. The two towers and cafeteria were designed to have all access controlled by a minimum number of riot police.
