"What are you rebelling against, Johnny?" "Whattaya got?"

And that kachina is weird.

  • Weird yes, but it's from the Navajo not the Hopi.

  • I confess I'm a victim of the Hopis' vastly better PR. How do you tell the difference in the figures?

  • The pic is misleading in that it's of a tourist sculpture (loosely) based on figures from navajo sand paintings. Figures which as far as I know, are never traditionally represented in 3 dimensions, so it looks kind of like a Hopi kachina doll.
My introduction to Navajo sand paintings was the book Sand Paintings Of The Navajo Shooting Chant. The accounts of battle in the chant are so vivid, reading it was like watching an epic fantasy movie, like TLOTR trilogy played out in the sunny/stromy skies over Monument Valley.

these are two pictures (among many others) that came up by using the word "trailer" in a word search under e.bay category and subcategory collectible/photographic images. i like the backwards reading "see through" COURT sign in the background of the MC picture. The seller also described the Indian MC picture as being of "gay interest." thanks for the kachina clarification steve.

ultimately i passed on these two. the kachina started giving me the creeps. and neither had too much of a story line. nothing past "wattaya got?" anyway.

It's not a Kachina.
