DOROTHY MAY DOOLITTLE (TAYLOR)

Dorothy Doolittle passed away on June 26, 2003 at 2:45 P.M. in Fairfax, Virginia. She was 88 years old and suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Ogden, Utah on June 9, 1915, to John Rich Taylor and Mary Alice Siddoway Taylor, Dorothy moved with her family to Southern California in 1930.

On July 08, 1939, she married Merrill Taylor Doolittle, who passed away at the age of 86 in Fairfax, Virginia, on April 19, 2000. Merrill had retired from Lockheed Missiles & Space Co. in 1974, where he had worked at their Sunnyvale and Van Nuys, California installations.

Dorothy and Merrill were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They enjoyed square dancing during much of their married life together. Dorothy was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was the great-granddaughter of John Taylor, 3rd president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Dorothy and Merrill lived in Rocklin, California from 1989-1997. In 1997, they returned to Hemet, California, where they have lived previously from 1976-1989.

Prior to Hemet, they resided in San Jose, California, from 1964-1976 and prior to that in Southern California including over 20 years in North Hollywood.

In 2000, Dorothy and Merrill moved to Fairfax, Virginia, to be near their son and daughter-in-law, Rep. John Doolittle (R-Rocklin) and Julia Harlow Doolittle, and to be able to receive better care for Dorothy's Alzheimer's disease.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Jack S. Taylor of Newport Beach, California and her sister, Mary Lou Maloy, of Toluca Lake, California; by her sister-in-law Jeanne Aytes of Reno, Nevada; and by her daughter, Sharon Bauer of Apache Junction, Arizona and her son, John T. Doolittle of Rocklin, Calif; and by her grandchildren, J. T. Doolittle and Courtney Anne Doolittle.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Fairfax Memorial Park.

and see i kept the christmas tree shots because of ya'lls feed back. that and it the fact that 32 is a good number for people working with grids. but thanks again for the good advise. its such a sad notion finding out how the story captured here in 1946-47 ends. these photos must have ben tossed out or sold when the estate was broken up. because they made their way to ebay in short order after ms dorothys passing. note her inscription on photo # 27 (3rd from from the left, bottom row) "the shack which we lived in from june, 29, 1946 to oct 10, 1946".
