  • another shot of the bar here by god knows who and the doug fir website here. just remember if you see fleshtone booked in portland, its probably not the fleshtones. (hint: "It is hard to describe in words what "Fleshtone" is, but I'll try: An extravagant melding of dance, music, sex, puppets, animation, electronic music, and much more. It is 10 people interacting in bizarre and amazing ways, creating a show that will both dazzle and tickle your loins." --KS ) we found out the hard way.

the restaurant and club was called doug fir and the motel is the jupiter. a recent reno done on the cheep but with nice splurges on materials. note those outside logs are new. no damp in the rooms and all ikea furnishings. the bacon was incredible. thick slices with pepper spiced edges won this spot our best bacon of the trip award. you have to break up all that great seafood with something. also of note biscuits with white sausage gravy, fish and chips, stand up burgers. did i miss anything?

Sort of rustic googie?

thats right. the restaurant is a converted mid-century pancake house. they kept all the good stuff and added that majorly glued up laminated wood bar top and overhead piece for additional logging reference.
