for sitting through that you deserve a payoff. here it tis. paul williams mornin ill be movin on
I don't remember that Williams--his talent was mainly as a songwriter, right? As opposed to singer or TV personality.
at first i thought this was the 70's schlock themesong hitman dave was posting about. love to hear you do something with that zombies found audio tom.
One of the takes--four or five, I lost count--was perfect. I hope they used it. I can't work with this material because those posts on my page convinced me that originality is the way to go.
As for Williams, I forgot about his film career. I have a soft spot for his first role as the boy rocket scientist in The Loved One, featuring a Terry Southern script. Jonathan Winters as the Blessed Reverend: "Russia may brainwash; China may educate; but America BREEDS its genius."
I guess I was wondering, what was PW's rep in Tinseltown, mainly? It was that he was a tunesmith, right?
west coast glam midget. yeah, but for film and tv. he made money not art. ok, schlock art.
Phantom of the Paradise
It was the '70's, ok?
If this had hit he could have been Travolta and the Bee Gees all in one.
I am a huge de Palma fan and have managed never to see Phantom of the Paradise.
As I recall it's good/bad, he gets his head caught in a record press.
