Bucks county bird watching note. Cooper's hawk spotted on the ground with a squirrel in his (her?) grip. Lingered for quite a while on the ground. Checking the habits of the species...they kill their prey by squeezing them to death.

She can’t really see yet, but you should wrap her up in spider webs and fishnets and float her out in a boat on the middle of the Lake at midnight, just to listen…

Depending on the exact habitat they probably get similar to what we see here: upwards of 200 species over the course of the year, maybe fewer as you get away from the coast.
Not sure what bird you’re recalling; please have reference to parts of a bird and provide more specific description.
