bronzing the radiator
did you know a radiator painted black will give off appreciably more heat than a white painted radiator?
if any engineers read this page ( i can think of one) and can enlighten us on the following point, id appreciate it:
i get that having a metallic panel behind the radiator will increase the heat radiated into the room. i also get that paints and bronzing can restrict the radiant effectiveness because of the insulating effect of the paint and bronzing material on a radiator. what i dont understand is why dark paint and light paint (black and white) would have a regulating effect on the transmission of heat from a radiator (dark allows more heat, light less heat). (as described in the second link ablove.)
