Great find! I'd leave it alone - that's actually pretty good wood. Strip it, sand it and then oil it. Wax it after that, and it'll last forever.

john picked this up yesterday. ive only seen the photos. if its like every thing else it will stay as is. i was just trying to do detective work on that top. is it original? the extra mounting brackets look a little ad hoc.
