  But, Marva's a friend of Cissy Houston (who did gigs for my jingle writer/producer father), and I met her at Mikell's nightclub many years ago. Great singer, nice lady. Pat and Mike Mikell were/are very old friends, and I hung out there all the time as a kid, so I met the most amazing assortment of folks. I'm extremely conscious of how this all sounds, but it's undeniably true.
