Before you buy your tiny Texas house, you should get the right kitchen ware for it.

ok that is a nice enameled tin cup. campy but not specific to tx

its not texaswear. with its signature melted plastic confetti and swirl effects. i started finding it in Pa as fish camp cast offs at garage sales. went back to tx for xmas vacation and found it at antique malls and started picking up mostly bowls. cheap! i remembered it from summer camp in waco (cast offs from baylor univ. student cafeteria ). related to melmac and melamine. better living through plastics yo!!!

lived in new york. began making furniture in 1973, when he moved from to marfa, in texas. the reason was practical, as he couldn’t find anything suitable locally – the first pieces he executed were beds for his children. the early furniture was executed with plain planks of pine. ‘I figured it out so I could tell the lumberyard what I wanted – four pieces, five feet long, three pieces, two feet long – and they would cut them for me. they wouldn’t do too many and they wouldn’t do anything fancy. they would just chop it up. for a long time the basic module was the width of the wood: 1x12s, 2x12s. for some racket of the lumberyards, the twelve inches were really eleven inches. most of the new work is in metric measurement.'said donal judd.

Specific objections: Yve-Alain Bois on Donald Judd in London and minimalism in New York and Los Angeles

My farmer grandparents had the chipped enamel plates and cups. didn't know about texas wear.

Where is there an image of the John Waters poster from marfa, I want to send it to a friend who did a recent residency there making minimalist work (natch')

im crazy about the right-priced texas wear (and dallas wear) items. especially those individual food group slotted cafeteria trays where no food group touches another. so peach cobler never touches turkey slices in beef gravy and the instant mashed potatoes stay untainted by string beans. those enameled items, coffee cups and pots are gar-um-teed to burn the b-jeses out of your hands.

ah ha!! found it here / good eye LM!

Speaking of Texas, here's an image of the church buildings that belong to the recently busted polygamist sect.

To a Catholic, this looks like Marfa.
