there are a few different services that do this, but fontgrinder is the highest resolution one (300 dpi) that I have found.

I took a fontographer course years ago. Everyone else designed a whole alphabet, but I just did one perfect L and persuaded everyone to use it in their alphabet.

I'll have to find it, because it was really the best L ever.
