i used to see him on tv sometimes. always considered him an "also-ran" comedian. but now he sounds more like a comedian's comedian. always had single name recognition. there is no other shecky.

thanks for that. i was seeing reverse horizontal black lines in my vision this afternoon. i saw tons of over the top buddy hackett on carson but shecky never quite killed on tv like that.

It's like the article said - Shecky never fit the screen. It's unfortunate. I saw him a couple of times in the 70s. Amazing.
