Is that a green house or a passive solar collector? Or both. (if you scroll down, that house.)

Passive solar collector, but easily a greenhouse space.

The solarium in Skinny's house was designed to be both.

mine not collecting enough sun IMHO

Ok, cool. I guess it's still good to optimize sun reception in Portland O regardless. A more passive aggressive approach might be in order. Reminds me of that solar brewery in seattle. My brewer friend who lived there said it wouldn't work. It would need to be in the sunbelt to have a fighting chance.

Why would you wanna live in Portland O anyway, of all places?!

Skinny and steve are raising their families there. Steve grew up in PO and skinny is starting a new wine business out there. Those are the only two I can account for.

1) well the solar room helps some, but we might convert to a 12 month room but that's $$, get the windows changed and heat extended, remove sliding doors 2) Portland was for nature/beauty, biz options, tired of NYC full time after 27 years, change for the kids.....why not Portland

No offense, Skinny. I've lived all over the place, and I just don't enjoy the PNW the way others do, that's all. I'm strictly East Coast, and will be moving back to New England soon.

No offense taken, I know people come hear and pack out in a year or two, one couple HATES this city, just curious Justin why you don't like.....I love NE, grew up there, great summers, too cold winters India's our next stop!!

The PNW is beautiful, no question, it's just not for me. I do agree that winters in New England are too cold, though. But that's what airplanes heading south are for :)
