That Scout is a great find. My cousin had one for years, in excellent condition. Someone stole it and wrapped it around a telephone pole. :(
My grandparents had a Travelall. My grandfather installed an 8 speed transmission for hauling their trailer over the coastal mountain range to their trailer park at the beach. He also installed an altimeter he found in some airplane wreckage to the dashboard.
And one of these compasses which spun and bobbed wildly unless on a straightaway.
That's all you need is an IH and a dash mount compass. And some gas.
1000 miles away make it just too far to pull off. Tempting though.
