this is a chair i designed recently and worked today with a welder to build this proto type. its steel and two 1/2 sections of tatami mat. the seat is 14" off the floor and the tatami panels are 36 x 36 x 2". a foot rest is forthcoming and together they would make a pair that could be pushed together to sleep on being the size of one full tatami panel. the steel frame is unfinished now, but will be painted satin black rustolium.
