Thanks. We went up to 5/8" for the round bar (legs and connector) from possible 1/2". It really makes a difference in the profile and with strength. The washers for the feet are 1 1/2" d. same as the angle iron width and were hand cut with a steel hole cutter from 1/4" plate. Beefy yo. They are back set so as not to go outside of the foot print of the seat frame allowing foot rest to be pushed right up against the chair to make a sleeper 6' x 3'. That was a late development and worked out with email supplements to the technical drawings I left with the welder at the first meeting. He made three angle iron frames in advance and we worked it all out on the spot yesterday making the legs and connector and getting the angle of the back in place. He drew it out with soapstone on his steel work bench and then bent steel bar to match the bench drawing. I guess once the foot rest is complete I can start taking orders!
