Ive been coming back to dallas for christmas for 27 years and theres never any guarentee that theres qoing to be anything to thing to listen to on the radio. last year and this year still 95.3 KHYI (check out the live audio stream) "the range" has been filling the bill nicely. I went to NTSU in Denton and hung out with a good friend and bass player Bill Whitbeck. He had a great blond fender jazz master but had a hell of a time passing his freshman music theory class even though he could read music fine. He was a big John Lenon fan and wore JL wire rims and suede deck shoes. He's been playing bass for Robert Earl Keen now for quite a while. It must be nice playing for majorly enthused crouds that show up for REK shows on the road every night. Thanks Bill for turning me on to outlaw country music in 1975, its served me well. A lot better than the bowie, roxy music and NY dolls I made him listen to.
