it was always a show about jerry's gang. an ensemble. he had the nice apartment, car and happening career. seinfeld and david developed the show together. david helped cast the mold, stayed around for a while writing and then left. i think george was a break away character because he was channeling davids best clueless self effacing shticks. "what! was that wrong?!" in other words shamelessly giving himself (george) his best bits. or, naturally writing better about what (who) he knows. stand-ups need good writers. pretty boy seinfeld was a better stand-up, david the better writer. as far as whos saying what. david has the podium and seinfeld seems retired to the hamptons.
