sometime during the winter someone broke off a 26" twig from one of the two golden rain trees we planted out front in the late fall. i picked up the twig when i found it and threw it in the back of my truck. once the two feet of snow melted from the truck bed i found the twig again and brought it inside. that was a couple or three weeks ago. i put it in water near the southern exposed bay windows in the front room. last week the buds were swelling and this week (three days ago) the first one popped open. i have high hopes for the trees out side. there seems to be some activity with their buds now too, but they're weeks behind, hopefully.
