I like the anecdote about re-writing the Poe story so his Texas childhood friends could appreciate the gross-out factor. I'm sure I've mentioned I got a speeding ticket in Alvarado--they put a 35 mph school zone out on the open highway to generate ticket revenue. It's in the middle of nowhere about 30 miles south of Ft Worth.
