My first Zappa tour was the Grand Wazoo--he had a big band style setup where the musicians each had their own stand (?). Zappa conducted and played guitar. I remember he limped onto the stage because still recovering from breaking his leg(s?) after the famous incident where an "enraged fan" in the UK threw him into an orchestra pit.
