hal blaine and the wrecking crew
Blaine includes in it Joe Osborn, Carol Kaye and Ray Pohlman on Fender basses and Lyle Ritz and Jimmy Bond on upright basses. Guitars might be some combination of Tommy Tedesco (whose book, Tommy Tedesco: Confessins of a Guitar Player is a must read for students of this time and place), Barney Kessel, Howard Roberts, Al Casey, Glen Campbell and Bill Pitman and the keyboards might be tickled by Don Randi, Leon Russell, Larry Knechtel, Michael Melvoin and/or Al Delory. When Blaine was not the drummer, or when two were used, as Phil Spector was sometimes inclined to do, the crew was typically driven by Earl Palmer.
