Trying to find the time to summarize from the message boards, Rashoman syndrome definitely in effect. The above set list is wrong. What we should have got at the end was X-Ray – Gary Floyd – Jimi – Cartoon – Shah. As far as I could tell (was dancing, not always watching the stage) Gibby was removed around the end of X-Ray, Paul said something like “we seem to have lost our singer” and then plowed through Gary Floyd taking the vocal himself. This was probably the highlight of the show, certainly the audience was whipped-up to its frothiest at that point and ready for more. Unfortunately they couldn’t tackle Jimi without Gibby (this is the first tour where the song was being performed in its entirety, the heavy, demonic first part and the acoustic birds and bowling second half) so Paul went straight into Shah Sleeps (always his vocal and traditional closer) then thanked the crowed saying something about “feeling the love.” He touched hands with the first row while exiting and that was it. Losing Jimi explains the missing 20 minutes; if they’d played it I think everyone would have called it a fine show.
