thanks steve. i may have to send this out for a nice large pro print to be made and framed. the lower image is a scan of the rectangular (cropped) print and the upper images is a gerry rigged full scan of the sq neg. the print is vintage and from a cleaner younger time for the negative. any detective work on the lens or camera from commenters is appreciated. sq format could be from a cheep brownie on up. negative reads kodac and is trimmed and w/ out sprocket holes. approx 2" sq. print could be amateur dark room job. has light wear in middle top and bottom as though it was pinned to a bulletin board carefully so as not to perforate the paper. there are ashes in the pit but no real smoke or heat wave distortion. could be candid play time or slightly staged rather than real cooking. the pit look like a permanent camp site fixture w/ cement filled pairs of cinder block and heavy iron grate. note camp craft rain diverting trench around the tent.
