I think you're right and that moment is coming (as long as he has a paid perch). Blogging is a different skill set from holding court with a one-way review (and being in the seat of total power for so many years). I know I'm morally compromised by turning off my comments but I will engage with people on the open internet without dumb shit like railing about anonymity. I can't say I never lost my cool and raised that with a particularly pesky commenter but I generally respect people's choice of a handle. But I started making all these mistakes and coming to these conclusions years ago. It's just so weird that JS is just now learning how to navigate these waters. The breakfast thing does give us some insight into what the absolute power of media gatekeeping does to people (turns them into freakazoids).
