If Seeger is finally cool it’s a first. I remember those records from back in the day and always kind of liked some of the material (thought it was funny to put out “Back in ‘72” in ’73) but he always seemed like a local guy just missing the big time, and I was going for prog and glam at the time. “Heavy Music” was a hit in Detroit but he sort of muddled along under the radar until he really started wringing out the romantic towel and went on to glory as the Springsteen of the Midwest, alienating the punks in the process. Now that roots are in fashion the old stuff may be cool but I don’t think he’s raking in the dough like when he was puttin’ on those night moves
