Swarb’s the greatest. Always regret that I never saw him with Fairport; there’re lots of fast fiddlers out there, but few with his grit. Already a legend when he came to Fairport, he’s still going strong after a double lung transplant (long time heavy smoker.) Here’s a classic from earlier in the ‘60s with Martin Carthy. As “folk,” the arrangement is totally inauthentic, but highly influential.
