I saw Frances McDormand and her Coen-brother boyfriend/husband Sat. night at Alias (l.e.s.). She was kinda scruffy-looking (shaggy hair, jeans & t-shirt) and pretty talkative. Coen guy wasn't saying much. They were with another woman. He paid and then they left.
I was there. Not my report though. There are *a lot* of famous (or semi famous) people eating on Clinton street. Wouldn't really make sense to keep track.
But any mention is good...
I keep seeing Patti Smith. I think she's recording in the sound studio on Clinton. Apologies, but I google at her like a moron, no shame, drool and all. She looks steadfastly ahead.
she's tres sexy to me, that show we saw in amstredam at the Melk Weg is one of the greatest rock events of my life!!
Agreed about the Melk Weg. I cried. It was beautiful.
She used to record on A and 3rd and would come into Desmoines for coffee. She likes those super sweet Doughnut Plant doughnuts.
One of the girls who worked behind the counter once took home a sugar dispenser because it was the one Patti used.
