My new breakfast of champions: egg, speck, and cheese piada from Piada, 3 Clinton Street. $4.06. Yum.

unrelated -- i was just in kossars bialys getting a couple of bagels. after i paid i saw the one lonely fridge at the back of the store with cream cheese, et al, which i had failed to notice as i came in, so i decided to grab some. but then when i realized it cost $3.75 for the half pound container, i put it back. but while i was returning it to the fridge, i decided to price the whitefish salad, which at $4.25 for the half pound seemed not entirely unreasonable. i wonder if the fact that something(s) had to die for my meal makes it seem more valuable. i ask the jew from central casting at the counter if it was any good, and he offered up a singular shrug before explaining that he buys his schmearables at the supermarket; theres are too expensive. as far as he was concerned, cheapliness, above all, was next to goodliness.

no. i just thought it was funny that he wouldnt buy his own products, especially considering that the store is barren except for the bagels in crates behind him and the one small fridge along the opposite wall.

id make a joke here but ive ceded, or perhaps in this case, seeded all my sexual innuedo humor rights to jim. i did get exclusive rights to the use of the word "jabber" in exchange, and 49% of the profits once the sale of digitalmediatree has been finalized. oh, was i not supposed to say that?

i thought it was an innocent remark, but you may be right.

sure, they all look innocent. but get them home and use them in a sentence; you might be surprised at what you find. (sthit, you know what that innuendo just cost me?)
