couldnt pass up this headline number three on the soy milk charts from the good folks at wingnut daily:

Soy is making kids 'gay'

That piece Skinny posted about natural fats etc ended with a horrific diatribe against soy that's been haunting me. Not because of gender identity issues so much as its vehemence. I couldn't tell how much was true and how much was the author being outrageous to reverse the current conventional wisdom.

well, im not a doctor but from the little ive gleaned in 10 minutes of googling is that the anti-soy sentiment is based heavily on one study whose conclusions are hardly universally accepted. id say the jury is still out and in certain circumstances (infants particularly) it should be avoided but that skinnys list was generally alarmist, based on questionable science and that moderation and organic when possible are the safest bets.

a lot of people i know in the natural movement are anti soy in all its forms......and then there are many in the anti dairy camp......i am now limiting both (but have deff stopped buying soy milk mainly cause i believe cereal is NG, i feel so much better since not eating cereal, the reason being that someone I trust said the grains are rotten by the time they make cereal and it will ferment fast and blot you, I ate it one day since and it blotted me up, pass!!)......i say balanced with mostly organic and low on the meat exp prosciutto:>).....flexatarian......there is also the raw is great raw is bad divide too....."take the middle path" was that buddha or the scarecrow
