we are on day 1, drink 1 of a 5 day juice cleanse. First juice, "the daily green". Ugh. Wish us luck!

luck!

drink number 2: blueberry. Don't worry I won't post them all, just wanted to update that Jim is already complaining.
- b. 3-03-2009 6:23 pm [add a comment]

I have a complaint against your charge of complaining. I merely stated that I'm already hallucinating and very probably near death from starvation.
- jim 3-03-2009 6:26 pm [add a comment]

You're going to consume nothing but juice for 5 days? Is wine a juice?
- elisabeth 3-03-2009 6:52 pm [add a comment]

As I've tried to argue, wine is juice, but alas it is still unfairly ruled out of the program.

And yes, nothing but juice, although the definition here is pretty broad including lots of fruits, but also vegetable juices that are really more like soups (i.e., squash juice) as well as one big nut milk every day (almond, brazil, macadamia, etc...) So we're getting some protein and a wide spectrum of other stuff. We drink 6 16 oz juices a day, so it really is quite a bit.

toughen up ok, do this followed by a liver flush OK!!
- Skinny 3-03-2009 9:03 pm [add a comment]

will you send us liver flush directions?
- b. 3-03-2009 9:04 pm [add a comment]

number 3: spinach dill. Halfway through day 1.
Elisabeth, don't worry about your brother, I promise he won't starve :-) plus he has been given the green light to snack on nuts and other good stuff. So far he is holding out though.

Just thinking about this is making me feel deprived. I wonder if reading about your doing this would count for my lenten observance...
- elisabeth 3-03-2009 10:26 pm [add a comment]

after the juice rush is over, 6 days of vegan eating and on days 1-5 you can eat as much as you want BUT must sip a liter of fresh press organic apple juice during the day

NO WINE or other alochols for the whole 6 days

day 6 is the day
no food nor liquid (inc apple juice) after 1pm
and than 6pm and 8pm are the epson salt drinks, than 10pm the olive oil/grapefruit drink and than lay down at 10pm

than the next day you will do more epsom drinks and all the bile and evil stuff will flow from you
than later you can start drinking and eating but you MUST do a colonic

sorry to be sexual here but I am doing my 15th one next week, and they get much easier the cleaner you become, to me its like a orgasm of the liver, at first they were tough now they energize me, my skin soften and glows

Why on earth are you doing this to yourselves? I understand Skinny's motive - insanity. But why you two?
- steve 3-05-2009 4:52 am [add a comment]

insanity as a motive??
- Skinny 3-05-2009 11:23 am [add a comment]

no silly, not as a motive
- sarah 3-05-2009 3:26 pm [add a comment]

we've done this a couple of times now, and it seems like a good way to reset. Although don't ask me now, on day 3 we feel a bit insane.
- b. 3-05-2009 4:20 pm [add a comment]

insane as this may seem to others IMHO i am so much more healthy from the liver flushes, and i am hoping so is my immune system and then there is the 29 lost pounds w/o working out:>)

i might have a hernia though.....linda thinks its from the colonic's:>)
- Skinny 3-05-2009 4:32 pm [add a comment]

I respect Skinny's regimen a lot, but for me I look at it a little more gently. Maybe it's just because I can't hack the real hard core stuff, but I think about it more in terms of just stopping the bad stuff going in rather than flushing anything out. In other words I'm not doing the colonics or the hard core salt or maple syrup flush. I'm just trying to put only good stuff in for 5 days. So, most importantly for me, no alcohol. And secondarily, but close, no burgers, no cheap sandwiches from the 1 Stop Deli, etc...

to each their own and follow whatever path seems right but its important to know you are what you eat, your body has its strengths and weakness's (in the genes) and the enviroment has its toxins etc at various degree's.....

love and long life to all :>)!!!

Clearly you're going to have roll-over credits for lent 2010. I'm going to go downstairs and pour myself a glass of wine on your behalf.
- elisabeth 3-05-2009 10:46 pm [add a comment]

Now that is just darn mean. 2 more days to go (isn't lent something like 40 days?)
- b. 3-06-2009 2:56 am [add a comment]

Yeah, but at the rate you're going you'll have satisfied the obligation part in just five short days. Extra credit for efficiency!
- elisabeth 3-06-2009 12:53 pm [add a comment]

While it was close at times, we completed day 5 without misstep and are DONE with this cleanse. Although, breakfast this morning was... drum roll... a smoothie. Going to start slow and breakfast will be followed by a salad. Reporting = officially complete.

I thought the second day was the hardest until yesterday which was much more difficult. Damn I was hungry. Dreamed about eating a steak on Friday night and then Saturday was downhill from there. Not just hungry but really low energy.

Thursday and Friday I felt great and had tons of energy. And I feel good now too. So it's a little of everything.
- jim 3-08-2009 4:32 pm [add a comment]

one last note: we calculated we drank about 8.5 gallons of liquid - each - over the 5 days. 3.75 of juice and 4 1/2 -5 of water.
