I just started a new water saving thing, so don't worry. Every couple of weeks, I save enough water for one avocado.
When I run the shower while waiting for hot water, I catch the water in a bucket, which I can use to flush the toilet. The beauty of this method is that if I take an extra shower for some reason, I save even *more* water.
