      • do you call them that or was that they were reminiscent of? as far as i can see waffle blocks are childrens toys. beyond squares, pockets seems the term of art but there doesnt seem to be any true standard. so block away.

        The honeycomb squares (sometimes called cups, dents, or pockets) on the grids for American waffle makers are often smaller and more numerous than they are for other waffle types, making these waffles perfect for holding syrup or gravy.
