From our local farmstand in CT:
Memorial Day weekend I'll be hosting a Seedling Sale here at the farm, Saturday & Sunday 10 to 6, and Monday from 2 to 6. This for me is a legacy of the tomato blight last year, which was caused by blight-infected seedlings raised down South and bought by the Big Box stores for customers with home gardens. As many of you may remember, this epidemic caused millions of dollars of damage to farmers throughout the Northeast.

So this year I planted over 500 extra tomato plants, and smaller surpluses of eggplants, peppers, cucumbers and the like, for those who would like to help keep seedling production local and therefore less risky for us all. I'll have at least 10 varieties of tomatoes and several varieties of the other crops for sale, and will also gladly answer questions about growing organically in your home gardens.
Hoping your life is filled with smashing rites of spring in the meantime, --Megan
