Wow, I'd never seen those; they're amazing. In the early 90s I made a series of pieces based on the prayer rug format, which is a portable personal sacred space, no weapons allowed.

Amazing indeed! I liked the "runner" on page two of the auction site. Probably the best "internet art exhibit" I've seen. Thanks Bill

Absolutely breathtaking. Surely whatever is at the heart of the Kirghiz light cannot be extinguished by the hateful pissings of the gringos,as these rugs loudly testify. A few years ago in San Christobal da la Casas we encounterd the same energy flowering in the traditional Mexican fabric dolls; tiny Zapatistas sporting exact miniature replicas of --suprise, suprise-- AKs & Kalishnikovs, cellphones & laptops!
