I thought it might be fun to go to the NCAA final four college basketball games in the Superdome the first week of April. I can get a single ticket, lower level, midcourt, for the semi-final and final games (I guess that would be a total of three separate games) for 6500 US dollars. I can get the three game package for nosebleed seats behind the goals for 650 US dollars apiece. If I chose to just attend the final, I could get the good seats for the bargain price of 1300 dollars. So I thought I might just watch the games on TV. Go Sooners.

I'm supposed to be on my way to the gated community of English Turn this morning, and I am going, but for now, instead of going, I'm sitting, doing this. I am the reason they invented Adult Supervision. .

Number one in a series: half baked political theory quiz.

Why would the U.S. ignore North Korea in light of the general agreement that they are making nuclear bombs (maybe around 6 by the summer is one estimate I heard,) and have missles capable of reaching the U.S.? Please answer in two words.

The strange case of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed.

Executive summary:

But the notion that Mohammed was captured on March 1, in part by ISI agents, and then turned over to the US where he might expose the ISI's role in terror acts from Operation Bojinka to 9/11 and more, is the most implausible possibility of them all.

The NY Post has a piece on how the war is straining friendships. The theme is deeper than the article, but it's always useful to get some insight into the young folks:

The war is the hottest political topic many Gen X-ers have ever encountered. "We were barely coming of age when the Cold War dissolved," said Beau Ruland, 33, a Jersey City paralegal. "I feel like this is becoming one of those things that we've never had to deal with before."
Just keep living, guys…

The directors of the new Alexandria Library, which christened a steel and glass structure with 250,000 books in October, have joined forces with an American artist and software engineers in an ambitious effort to make virtually all of the world's books available at a mouse click.

"We were going for our luggage. We were in Chicago. The cheap flight takes you to New York that way. We didn't have to go through immigration, they pass you through in Dublin now. The loudspeaker calls out 'McAliskey.' We go up to your man and say yes, and we're immedately surrounded by three men and a woman. They grab the passports out of our hands. One of the men says to me, "We've a fax from our agents in Dublin. It says you're a potential or real threat to the United States.'"
