This absentee Virginia voter is reporting in from NYC. With alternate side street parking restrictions lifted on this voting day I have no early morning chores except to go up on the roof and smoke. Incredibly warm here today and yesterday's clouds have lifted but in their place is a rather impressive smog bank. I think we are all eager to take a break from our incessant studying of electoral college maps and all the what if-ing of what happens if one state goes blue and another goes red. Despite the hopeful numbers, for every conversation I have had this week where one person at a table says we got it in the bag, another one points out that the potential for last minute voter manipulation still exists. In closing I would like to say--hey, is that a gerbil humping a mouse?

I just found out that The Department of Culture, because they’d rather be with friends, than with Republicans, are hosting an election results party at the Gladstone Hotel tonight. 8pm to 1am Gladstone Hotel - 1214 Queen Street West, Toronto.
