Does anyone else have trouble reading that Velvet Underground page? The type is so small that on my system the lower case breaks up into dots. Maybe it's my version of Javascript.
Anyone know if the Coney Island Baby cd is still in print?

  • Go into preferences (in the edit menu in Navigator) and click on 'Fonts' and then increase your 'variable width' font size. Fonts displayed on a Mac tend to look smaller than on a PC so many sites are tough to read on a Mac unless you bump up your font size. I use 14pt Arial as my variable width font and most pages render O.K.

    • Thanks, that's much better. Does nothing for the Velvet's site though, just makes the gobbeldigook bigger. Other sites (including this one) are much improved.

      • Turn off javascript (edit menu -> preferences -> advanced.) Because of the weirdnesss in Navigator 4.x this will disable style sheets which will make the page legible.

        • Eureka! But when should I have Java Script enabled?

          • Sometimes a page will require it in order to display. Some pages will give you a message ("we have detected that your browser is too old, or you do not have javascript enabled") and sometimes the page will load in, but nothing will appear. If this happens then I turn it back on. I'm always suspicious of a page that needs javascript to render, although this is a fairly extreme position to hold.
