Frank & I got out the next morning for my first close look at some Montana country, in nearby Leverich Canyon, where we managed to see a few birds you don’t see in New York.



It was real high country, replete with peaks and valleys and wildflowers, but it’s awful hard to go someplace where you don’t run into some evidence of human usage, like this old miner’s cabin, which seemed to be of two minds about moving downhill.



Our next stop was similar in construction style, but rather more substantial.
