about halfway though the secret agent. always good to go in nearly blind to the goings on except an expectation that its going to be decent. kind of an interesting counterpoint to one battle after another which is a much more self aware film which maybe makes it more entertaining but not necessarily a better film. slow burn though, this one, and surely, nowhere near the budget.

one giants owner is all over the epstein files, tisch. original giants owner in the 20s was a bookie, mara. original and still owner of the steelers was a racketeer, rooney. current "redskins" owner replacing the blighted previous owner is at least mentioned in the epstein files. cant recall if he was as implicated as tisch but one of his more modern financial scams was too convoluted for me to understand but his hedge fund or whatever convinced old people to let them take out large life insurance policies on them and then package them as an investments. harris. the ceo of his company apollo, leon black was definitely dipping his pen in epsteins inc.
meanwhile tennis player jessica pegulas father owns the buffalo bills and sabres. he was mentioned in the epstein files but for seemingly unrelated reasons. he is a heavy republican contributor and according to another story i dont understand had his tennis star daughter in line to come into the family business but then wrote a story about her mother having a heart attack and the subsequent brain damage as a result after which her father cut her out of the succession plan. if that story is true i cannot figure out why. it wasnt about blame, it was a personal story about dealing with family trauma. (i assume its either bad for business or nobodys business.)

i dont know about sinners. theres a lot to like but came away feeling underwhelmed. maybe i just dont care for the need of a horror genre to be the delivery system for some broader cultural statement.
