someone in the building tossed a crock pot and a lodge enameled dutch oven both in very good condition and i was doing laundry at the right time to grab them. made a pot roast in one or the other yesterday. today its a breakfast sandwich.

first couple of eps of amazons big swing on a lord of the rings series dropped last night. i am not a book reader so i have fewer things to be annoyed by. certainly has the requisite number of woke signifiers to get the haters buzzing on that front as well. i was reasonably entertained. i could not get through more than a few minute of a wheel of time which was there last big fantasy swing but at least i am somewhat familiar with the tolkien universe which works in its favor.

tonight is your third chance to possibly see serena williams last professional match at the us open. i havent watched the first two but she upset the #2 ranked player on wednesday. seems like its best if i dont watch, for her sake. havent watched any matches yet. she played doubles with her sister venus one last time last night and i believe they lost. they lost the first set in a tie breaker and were down 3 love when i checked the score. not watching did not help in that case so perhaps i have no bearing on the outcome after all.
